ANALISIS PROSPEK PRODUKSI BAWANG MERAH DI INDONESIA (Prospect Analysis of Red Onion Production in Indonesia)
English abstract: Red onion (Allium cepa L.) is a vegetable commodity which has been cultivated intensively by farmers for a long time. However However, the amount of Indonesian red onion production has not been fully received meet the demand for shallots in the domestic market every year. Based on data (BPS, 2019) the six main shallot producing provinces are Central Java, East Java, West Nusa Tenggara, West Java, West Sumatra and South Sulawesi, respectively. A very worrying shortage of shallot production also occurred in 2008 where shallot production was 853,615 tons while the demand for shallots was 969,316 tonnes so that Indonesia experienced the highest shortage of shallot stocks in the 2002-2012 period which reached 115,701 tons (BPS, 2013). The purpose of research to analyze the production of shallots in Indonesia in past 30 years to the next 30 years, as well as to analyze why the production of shallots in Indonesia can not reach the amount production such as in China, India, the United States and Egypt. Secondary data that The data used is time series data, namely the production of shallots in the period for the last 30 years (1991-2020) using trend analysis methods, data Shallot production for the period 1991 – 2020 will be used to forecast shallot production for the next 30 years, namely 2021 -2050. Results and discussion, Indonesian shallot production in 2021 is 2,615,677, in 2050 amounted to 4,189,324. but in 2020 Indonesia will import shallots from Vietnam, Malaysia, Thailand amounting to 8.17 thousand tonnes production in 2020 amounted to 1,815,445. Comparison of production between Indonesia and the world's four shallot producing countries, Indonesia has not been able to reach the total production of world producers. For that the government provides subsidy assistance in 2020 will increase production by 20%, and production in 2021 increased by 3,138,812, production in 2050 by 5,027,189, if the government always provides subsidy assistance then production Indonesian shallots in the future will no longer need to be imported In other words, Indonesia has achieved self-sufficiency in shallots
